Kolb MKII
when I bought this Kolb MKII it was a little rough. I recovered the fuselage and added the zebra stripes. This was my first experiment with using latex paint on an airplane. The MKII kit is not made anymore. It weighs about 400 lbs and carries 2 people at 65 MPH. The Rotax 503 burned about 3.6 GPH giving a range of about 190 miles.
Here's a video showing it's short field capability.Video
And Here's one of the new owner having some fun.Video
The Kolb was a ton of fun.
It used verry little runway for landing or taking off.
I got to fly it an Airventure in Oshkosh, WI. It was a thrill flying at an event that draws 500,000 people and 10,000 airplanes.
I bought an old camper and converted it into a toy hauler for the Kolb.
It took only about 15 minutes to get the airplane out and ready to fly.
Inside the camper there was lots of room with the airplane out.
